Message of the Day: From Sri Aurobindo's Uttarpara Speech -1

WHEN I was asked to speak to you at the annual meeting of your sabha, it was my intention to say a few words about the subject chosen for today,—the subject of the Hindu religion. I do not know now whether I shall fulfil that intention; for as I sat here, there came into my mind a word that I have to speak to you, a word that I have to speak to the whole of the Indian Nation. It was spoken first to myself in jail and I have come out of jail to speak it to my people. It was more than a year ago that I came here last.  When I came I was not alone; one of the mightiest prophets of Nationalism sat by my side.It was he who then came out of the seclusion to which God had sent him,so that in the silence and solitude of his cell he might hear the word that He had to say. It was he that you came in your hundreds to welcome. Now he is far away, separated from us by thousands of miles. Others whom I was accustomed to find working beside me are absent. The storm that swept over the country has scattered them far and wide. It is I this time who have spent one year in seclusion, and now that I come out I find all changed. One who always sat by my side and was associated in my work is a prisoner in Burma; another is in the north rotting in detention. I looked round when I came out, I looked round for those to whom I had been accustomed to look for counsel and inspiration. I did not find them. There was more than that. When I went to jail, the whole country was alive with the cry of Bande Mataram, alive with the hope of a nation, the hope of millions of men who had newly risen out of degradation. When I came out of jail I listened for that cry, but there was instead a silence. To be continued........

Message of the Day: What is the most useful work to be done at the present moment?

What is the most useful work to be done at the present moment?   The general aim to be attained is the advent of a progressing universal harmony. The means for attaining this aim, in regard to the earth, is the realisation of human unity through the awakening in all and the manifestation by all of the inner Divinity which is One. In other words,—to create unity by founding the Kingdom of God which is within us all.  This, therefore, is the most useful work to be done:  (1) For each individually, to be conscious in himself of the Divine Presence and to identify himself with it.  (2) To individualise the states of being that were never till now conscious in man and, by that, to put the earth in connection with one or more of the fountains of universal force that are still sealed to it.  (3) To speak again to the world the eternal word under a new form adapted to its present mentality. It will be the synthesis of all human knowledge.  (4) Collectively, to establish an ideal society in a propitious spot for the flowering of the new race, the race of the Sons of God.

Sri Aurobindo's Message : August 15th is my own birthday and .............

August 15th is my own birthday and it is naturally gratifying to me that it should have assumed this vast significance. I take this coincidence, not as a fortuitous accident, but as the sanction and seal of the Divine Force that guides my steps on the work with which I began life, the beginning of its full fruition.


Indeed on this day I can watch almost all the world movements which I hoped to see fulfilled in my lifetime, although then they looked like impracticable dreams, arriving at fruition or on their way to achievement.

In all these movements free India may well play a large part and take a leading position…

Message of the Day - Ask for nothing but the divine..

*  To walk through life armoured against all fear, peril and disaster, only two things are needed, two that go always together—the Grace of the Divine Mother and on your side an inner state made up of faith, sincerity and surrender. Let your faith be pure, candid and perfect.  An egoistic faith in the mental and vital being tainted by ambition, pride, vanity, mental arrogance, vital self-will, personal demand, desire for the petty satisfactions of the lower nature is a low and smoke-obscured flame that cannot burn upwards to heaven. Regard your life as given you only for the divine work and to help in the divine manifestation.  Desire nothing but the purity, force, light, wideness, calm, Ananda of the divine consciousness and its insistence to transform and perfect your mind, life and body.  Ask for nothing but the divine, spiritual and supramental Truth, its realisation on earth and in you and in all who are called and chosen and the conditions needed for its creation and its victory over all opposing forces.

Message of the Day: Purpose in Life - வாழ்வின் நோக்கம்

*There is a purpose in life—and it is the only true and lasting one—the Divine. Turn to Him and the emptiness will go. Blessings. வாழ்வில் நோக்கம் ஒன்று  உள்ளது - அதுவே உண்மை - அது என்றும் நீடித்து இருக்கக் கூடியது - அதுதான் இறைவன். *You are here to contact your soul, and that is why you live. Aspire persistently and try to silence your mind. The aspiration must come from the heart.  *To be and to become more and more what the Divine wants us to be should be our greatest preoccupation. *Consider the Divine Life as the most important thing to obtain.  * Happiness is not the aim of life. The aim of ordinary life is to carry out one’s duty, the aim of spiritual life is to realise the Divine.
