Message of the Day - பெண் - Perfect equality

...............In any case, until the manifestation of a new conception and consciousness compels Nature to create a new species which would no longer have to yield to the necessity of animal procreation and thus be under the obligation of dividing into two complementary sexes, the best that can be done for the progress of the present human race is to treat both sexes on a footing of perfect equality, to give them the same education and training and to teach them to find, through a constant contact with a Divine Reality that is above all sexual differentiation, the source of all possibilities and harmonies. In their best moments, both man and woman can forget their difference of sex, but it reappears at the slightest provocation; the woman feels she is a woman, the man knows he is a man and the quarrel is revived indefinitely in one form or another, open or veiled, and perhaps all the more bitter the less it is admitted. And one wonders whether it will not be so until there are no longer any men or women, but living souls expressing their identical origin in sexless bodies. கல்வி என்பதனை பொதுவாக நாம் அறிவை வளர்க்கும் ஒரு கருவியாக மட்டுமே காண்கிறோம். பல சமயங்களில், அது அறிவை வளர்க்கும் கல்வியாக இருப்பதை விட, அறிவை சோதிக்கும் அல்லது மனப்பாடம் செய்யும் அல்லது ஞாபக சக்தியின் திறனை சோதிக்கும் ஒரு கருவியாக மட்டுமே அமைந்து விடுகிறது. அறிவை வளர்ப்பது கல்வி. உடற்கல்விக்கும் இப்பொழுது முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. மனதிற்கு? மனதிற்கு என்று ஒரு கல்வி தேவையா, குழந்தைகள் படிக்கும் சூழலே அவர்களது மனதையும் வளர்க்கும், அதற்கு எதற்கு தனி பயிற்சி என்பது நம்மில் பலரது எண்ணமாக இருக்கலாம். இப்போதைய சூழலில் நமது குழந்தைகள் பெறுவது Stress and Mental Tension. பயிற்சியின் மூலம் அவர்கள் மதிப்பெண்கள் பெறலாம், மிக உயர்ந்த படிப்பும், வேலையும் பெறலாம், சமூக அந்தஸ்தும் பெறலாம். ஆனால் அவர்களது சிந்தனை மற்றும் எண்ணங்கள் உயர்தவைதான், இந்த சமூகத்திற்கு அவர்களது எண்ணங்கள் நன்மை மட்டுமே புரியும் என்று உறுதியாக கூற முடியுமா? இதனை எத்தனை பெற்றோர் எண்ணுகின்றனர் என்பதும் ஒரு கேள்வியே?

மனதினை நன்றாக வளர்க்கும் பயிற்சிகளை பெற்றால் மட்டுமே, ஒரு குழந்தையின் கல்வி முழுமையாகிறது என்கிறார் அன்னை.

குழந்தைகள் நல்ல மதிப்பெண்கள் வாங்குகிறார்களா, அவர்களின் தேவைகளை நிறைவேற்றுகிறோமா அவர்களது உடல் நலன் நன்றாக உள்ளதாக என்று பொறுப்புடன் கவனிக்கும் பெற்றோர் கூட, அவர்களது மனம் ஆரோக்கியமாக உள்ளதா என்று கவனிக்க மறந்து விடுகின்றனர், அல்லது அதனை கவனிக்க வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை அவர்கள் உணர்வது இல்லை. மனதிற்கும் கல்வி (Metal Education) அவசியம் என்பதை பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவே இக்கட்டுரை.


அன்னையில் பாதையில்:

ஸ்ரீ அன்னை On Education என்ற நூலில், முழுமையான ஒரு கல்வி எப்படி இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற தன்னுடைய கருத்துகளை எழுதியுள்ளார். அதில் அவர் மனக் கல்வியின் அவசியத்தை வலியுறுத்துகிறார். அதில் சில கருத்துகளை உங்களின் சிந்தனைக்கு வைக்கின்றோம்.

.................Generally speaking, schooling is considered to be all the mental education that is necessary. And when a child has been made to undergo, for a number of years, a methodical training which is more like cramming than true schooling, it is considered that whatever is necessary for his mental development has been done. Nothing of the kind. Even conceding that the training is given with due measure and discrimination and does not permanently damage the brain, it cannot impart to the human mind the faculties it needs to become a good and useful instrument. The
schooling that is usually given can, at the most, serve as a system of gymnastics to increase the suppleness of the brain.

மனக் கல்வி, ஒரு மனிதனை, ஒரு உயர்ந்த வாழ்விற்கு, அவனை அழைத்துச் செல்கிறது. அதனை 5 கட்டங்களாக வரிசைப்படுத்துகிறார் அன்னை.

A true mental education, which will prepare man for a
higher life, has five principal phases. Normally these phases follow one after another, but in exceptional individuals they may alternate or even proceed simultaneously. These five phases, in brief, are:

 (1) Development of the power of concentration , the capacity of attention.
(2) Development of the capacities of expansion, widening,
complexity and richness.
(3) Organisation of one’s ideas around a central idea, a
higher ideal or a supremely luminous idea that will serve as a guide in life.

(4) Thought-control, rejection of undesirable thoughts, to
become able to think only what one wants and when one wants.
(5) Development of mental silence, perfect calm and a more and more total receptivity to inspirations coming from the higher regions of the being.

அன்னை மேற்கூறிய பல்வேறு நிலைகளின் சுருக்கமாகக் கூறினால்,

1. மனதை ஒருமுகப்படுத்தும் சக்தியில் முன்னேற்றம்

2. பரந்த நோக்கங்கள், சீரிய சிந்தனை மற்றும் உயரிய எண்ணங்கள்
3. தனது நோக்கங்களை ஒருமுகப்படுத்தி, அதனை தனது வாழ்வை வழிநடத்த வைக்கும் மையமாகக் கொள்வது.
4. எண்ணங்களை கட்டுப்படுத்தும் சக்தி.
5. மனதில் அமைதியை நிலை கொள்ளச் செய்வது.

Mental Education என்ற தலைப்பில் அன்னை எழுதியாவற்றில் சில :

 ........Things learnt by heart, mechanically, fade away little by little and finally disappear; what is understood is never forgotten. Moreover, you must never refuse to explain to a child the how
and the why of things. If you cannot do it yourself, you must direct the child to those who are qualified to answer or point out to him some books that deal with the question.

.................The life of every day, of every moment, is the best school of all, varied, complex, full of unexpected experiences, problems to be solved, clear and striking examples and obvious consequences.
