Message of the Day: What is Tamas?

The dullness comes from “tamas”; imaginative activity was
shaking off the tamas and thus ridding you of the dullness.
But this is not the only way to get rid of it. Opening to the Light
and Consciousness from above and allowing them to replace the
tamas in the external consciousness, is a much better and surer
way.

Message of the Day - Victory -

Victory will triumph over all obstacles.

I was not referring to victory in games, but to the victory of the
consciousness over ignorance and stupidity.

Bush AllamandaThe Victory is certain and with this certitude we can face patiently any amount of wrong suggestions and hostile attacks.

The certitude of the Victory gives an infinite patience with the maximum of energy.

Message of the Day : Solution for falsehood -

There is only one solution for falsehood.
It is to cure in ourselves all that contradicts in our
consciousness the Presence of the Divine.

Yes, I insist on that; it is very true, very true. It may not be easy
to understand, but it is a very profound truth.

Message of the Day: Openness -

What is Openness?

Openness is the will to receive and to utilise for progress the force
and influence; the constant aspiration to remain in touch with
the Consciousness; the faith that the force and consciousness are
always with you, around you, inside you and that you have only
to let nothing stand in the way of your receiving them.
*
Opening is a release of the consciousness by which it begins to
admit into itself the workings of the Divine Light and Power.
*
Open to the consciousness which is working on and in you and
keep always as quiet and peaceful as you can.

Message of the Day: What is surrender?

What is surrender?

It means that one gives oneself entirely to the Divine.

Yes, and then what happens? If you give yourself entirely to the
Divine, it is He who does the Yoga, it is no longer you; hence this
is not very difficult; while if you do tapasya, it is you yourself
who do the yoga and you carry its whole responsibility—it is
there the danger lies. But there are people who prefer to have
the whole responsibility, with its dangers, because they have a
very independent spirit. They are not perhaps in a great hurry—
if they need several lives to succeed, it does not matter to them.
But there are others who want to go quicker and be more sure of
reaching the goal; well, these give over the whole responsibility
to the Divine.

Message of the Day: Earthly life

Earthly life is the place for progress. It is here, on earth, that
progress is possible, during the period of earthly existence. And
it is the psychic which carries the progress over from one life to
another, by organising its own evolution and development itself.

Message of the Day: Meditation -

I think the most important thing is to know why one meditates;
this is what gives the quality of the meditation and makes
it of one order or another.

You may meditate to open yourself to the divine Force,
you may meditate to reject the ordinary consciousness, you may
meditate to enter the depths of your being, you may meditate
to learn how to give yourself integrally; you may meditate for
all kinds of things. You may meditate to enter into peace and
calm and silence—this is what people generally do, but without
much success. But you may also meditate to receive the Force
of transformation, to discover the points to be transformed, to
trace out the line of progress. And then you may also meditate
for very practical reasons: when you have a difficulty to clear
up, a solution to find, when you want help in some action or
other. You may meditate for that too.

I think everyone has his own mode of meditation. But if
one wants the meditation to be dynamic, one must have an
aspiration for progress and the meditation must be done to help
and fulfil this aspiration for progress. Then it becomes dynamic.

Quote of the Day : The Aim -

The aim of our life on earth is to
become conscious of the Divine.

The true purpose of life—
To live for the Divine, or to live for the Truth, or at least to
live for one’s soul.

And the true sincerity—
To live for the Divine without expecting any benefit from
Him in return.

Message of the Day - Progress

Progress: the reason why we are on earth.

One has always something to learn and a progress to make, and
in each circumstance we can find the occasion of learning the
lesson and making the progress.

Progress: to be ready, at every minute, to give up all one is and
all one has in order to advance on the way.

Message of the Day: How can one understand the Divine? -

How can one understand the Divine?

By becoming Him, my child. And that is the only way: by identity. As Sri Aurobindo says, “We know the Divine and become the Divine, because we are That already in our secret nature.”
It is because He is the very essence of our being that we can become Him and, consequently, understand Him; otherwise it would be quite impossible.

Message of the Day : Divine Presence

Prayers and Meditations :

AS soon as all effort disappears from a manifestation, it becomes very simple, with the simplicity of a flower opening, manifesting its beauty and spreading its fragrance without clamour or vehement gesture. And in this simplicity lies the greatest power, the power which is least mixed and least gives rise to harmful reactions. The power of the vital should be mistrusted, it is a tempter on the path of the work, and there is always a risk of falling into its trap, for it gives you the taste of immediate results; and, in our first eagerness to do the work well, we let ourselves be carried away to make use of this power. But very soon it deflects all our action from the right course and introduces a seed of illusion and death into what we do.

Simplicity, simplicity! How sweet is the purity of Thy Presence! . . .

Message of the day: Meditation And Ohm Mantra -

Meditation:

.......Only one method is worth recommending: meditation. But as I was telling you last time, there are many ways of meditating; some are very effective, others less so.

Each one should find his own by successive trial and error. However, one thing can be recommended to everyone: reflection, that is to say, concentration, self-observation in solitude and silence, a close and strict analysis of the multitude of insignificant little thoughts which constantly assail us.

During the few moments you devote each day to this preliminary exercise of meditation, avoid, if possible, the complacent contemplation of your sensations, your feelings, your states of mind.

We all have an inexhaustible fund of self-indulgence, and very often we treat all these little inner movements with the greatest respect and give them an importance which they certainly do not have, even relative to our own evolution.
Meditation with "AUM" :
..............here is a very powerful word, for it can combine the qualities of all three categories: it is the Sanskrit word “AUM”. It is used in India to express the divine Immanence. There, it is associated with every meditation, every  contemplation, every yogic practice.

More than any other sound, this sound “AUM” gives rise to a feeling of peace, of serenity, of eternity.

Message of the Day: Family -

Family:

We have spoken of the love of parents for their children and of children for their parents. If someone asked you what makes a family, what would you reply?

I asked a child the other day and he replied, “Two.” He meant the husband and the wife.
I asked another child and he replied, “Three,” thinking of the father, the mother and the child.

And yet we can see that the family is very often larger than these three.Suppose, for example, that there are four: father, mother and two children.

" Then a new idea, a new friendship comes into play, the friendship of brother and sister. In this friendship, we do not look up, as to a parent, or down, as to a child. We are attached to a friend who is more on our own level, who is in a way our equal, or nearly our equal in age."
And so brotherly affection adds a new gem to the wealth of the household.

Message of the day - How can depressions be controlled?

How can depressions be controlled?

Oh! There’s a very simple way. Depression occurs generally in the vital, and one is overpowered by depression only when one keeps the consciousness in the vital, when one remains there.
The only thing to do is to get out of the vital and enter a deeper consciousness. Even the  highermind, the luminous, highermind, the most lofty thoughts have the power to drive away depression.
Even when one reaches just the highest domains of thought, usually the depression disappears. But in any case, if one seeks shelter in the psychic, then there is no longer any room for depression.

Message of the Day - Receptivity -

Receptivity is the capacity of admitting and retaining the Divine Workings.

Receptivity: conscious of the Divine Will and surrendered to it.

Integral receptivity: the whole being is aware of the Divine Will and obeys it.

Psychic receptivity: the psychic responds joyously to the ascending force.

Mental receptivity: always ready to learn.

Emotional receptivity: emotions wanting to be divinised.

Vital receptivity happens only when the vital understands that it must be  transformed. The vital blossoms in aspiration for the Divine.

Message : Harm done by incontinence of speech -

So, the subject of our meditation ..will be this:
“On the harm done by incontinence of speech.”

Very often I have told you that every word spoken uselessly is dangerous chatter. But here, the situation has reached the very limit—there are things which have been said, said over and over again, repeated by all those who have tried to perfect humanity, unfortunately without much result—it is a question of malicious gossip... of slander, of that pleasure taken in speaking ill of others.

Anyone who indulges in this kind of incontinence debases his consciousness, and when to this incontinence is added the habit of vulgar quarrelling, expressed in coarse language, then that amounts to suicide, spiritual suicide within oneself. I stress this point and insist that you take it very seriously.

Message of the Day - Devotion -

Give yourself, all that you are and what you do, to the Divine, and you will have peace.

*

* Give yourself entirely to the Divine and you will see the end of all your troubles.

*

*
It is a sincere self-giving that saves one from all difficulties and dangers.

*
Never say, “I have nothing to give to the Divine.” There is always something to give, for always you can give yourself in a better and more complete way.

*
To the Divine you are worth no more than what you have given Him.

*To give to the Divine what one has in excess is not an offering. One should give at least something out of what one needs.”

Message by Sri Mother from "On Education" -

  • You who are young, are the hope of the country. Prepare yourselves to be worthy of this expectation.

Blessings.
  • Of one thing you can be sure—your future is in your hands.
  • You will become the man you want to be and the higher your ideal and your aspiration, the higher will be your realisation, but you must keep a firm resolution and never forget your true aim in life.

Message of the Day : Helping others -

...If you want to help
humanity, there is only one thing to do, it is to take yourself as completely as possible and offer yourself to the Divine. That is the solution. Because in this way, at least the material reality which you represent will be able to grow a little more like the
Divine..

........  Give food to the poor?—You can feed millions of them. That will not be a solution, this problem will remain the same. The Divine must know better than you the condition of humanity. What are you? You represent only a little bit of consciousness and a
little bit of matter, it is that you call “myself”.
If you want to help humanity, the world or the universe, the only thing to do is to give that little bit entirely to the Divine.

Message of the Day : To solve the problem of life :

When the mind becomes silent, when it stops judging, pushing itself forward with its so-called knowledge, one begins to solve the problem of life. One must refrain from judging, for the mind is only an instrument of action, not an instrument of true
knowledge—true knowledge comes from elsewhere.

Message of the Day : Mahalakshmi -

Harmony and beauty of the mind and soul, harmony and beauty of the thoughts and feelings, harmony and beauty in every outward act and movement, harmony and beauty of the life and surroundings, this is the
demand of Mahalakshmi.

Wisdom and Force are not the only manifestations of the
supreme Mother; there is a subtler mystery of her nature and without it Wisdom and Force would be incomplete things and
without it perfection would not be perfect.

Above them is the
miracle of eternal beauty, an unseizable secret of divine harmonies,
the compelling magic of an irresistible universal charm and attraction that draws and holds things and forces and beings
together and obliges them to meet and unite that a hidden Ananda may play from behind the veil and make of them its
rhythms and its figures. This is the power  of MAHALAKSHMI and
there is no aspect of the Divine Shakti more attractive to the heart
of embodied beings.

Maheshwari lays down the large lines of the worldforces,
Mahakali drives their energy and impetus,Mahalakshmi
discovers their rhythms and measures, but Mahasaraswati presides
over their detail of organisation and execution, relation of
parts and effective combination of forces and unfailing exactitude
of result and fulfilment.

Message of the Day - Maheshwari -

Imperial MAHESHWARI is seated in the wideness above the thinking mind and will and sublimates and greatens them into wisdom and largeness or floods with a splendour beyond them.

For she is the mighty and wise One who opens us to the supramental infinities and the cosmic vastness, to the grandeur of the supreme Light, to a treasure-house of miraculous knowledge, to the measureless movement of the Mother’s eternal forces.

Tranquil is she and wonderful, great and calm for ever. Nothing can move her because all wisdom is in her; nothing is hidden from her that she chooses to know; she comprehends all things and all beings and their nature and what moves them and the law of the world and its times and how all was and is and must be.

Equal, patient and unalterable in her will she deals with men according to their nature and with things and happenings according to their force and the truth that is in them.

Partiality she has none, but she follows the decrees of the Supreme and some she raises up and some she casts down or puts away from her into the darkness. To the wise she gives a greater and more luminous wisdom; those that have vision she admits to her counsels; on the hostile she imposes the consequence of their hostility; the ignorant and foolish she leads according to their
blindness.

In each man she answers and handles the different elements of his nature according to their need and their urge and the return they call for, puts on them the required pressure or leaves them to their cherished liberty to prosper in the ways of the Ignorance or to perish. For she is above all, bound by nothing, attached to nothing in the universe. Yet has she more than any
other the heart of the universal Mother.

For her compassion is endless and inexhaustible; all are to her eyes her children and portions of the One, even the Asura and Rakshasa and Pisacha and those that are revolted and hostile.

Even her rejections are only a postponement, even her punishments are a grace. But her compassion does not blind her wisdom or turn her action from the course decreed; for the Truth of things is her one concern,  knowledge her centre of power and to build our soul and our
nature into the divine Truth her mission and her labour.
